Out of this World Dad

It's Father's Day weekend. Do you have any special plans for the king of your castle? Breakfast in bed? Taking him out to dinner & a movie? Or just letting him lie around and veg in front of tv?
I am planning on queuing some ribs on the back patio, a little potatoe salad, and a apple crisp. Thinking about taking him to the movies, to watch the latest sci-fi movie, as he is a big sci-fi fan. And because he is I decided on an alien theme, called Out of this World Dad just for him. I decorated my front door with lime green and silver mesh, along with some black flex tubing as my base. On top is the door greeter, waving hello. Spaceships with little green men, that say Dad, Father, Poppa , Daddy , some planets, some hi tech space ships,  and ray guns. The wreath on the door displays the theme for it all. All the items were hand cut and painted onto foam board, including inside.

I took the theme inside to my mantle. Two large aliens on each side , some planets, and spaceships, and space rocks.

And the table for two , with yellow table cloth, black place mats, yellow glittered chargers. The dinner plates are black, salad plates in lime green, yellow flatware and crystal stemware. The napkins are black and yellow layered together with a black flex tubing napkin ring. The centerpiece is a lime green orchid, two yellow calla lilies, some styrofoam balls balls painted to resemble planets. I strung black flex tubing through out and lime green mesh on the bottom to give it a fun futuristic look.

I has such a hard time getting a great picture, so I white boarded it. Much better ! the centerpiece:

Well I hope you all have a great Father's Day weekend. Spend time with your King, make him feel loved.
I will be back with my 4th of July decor soon!
Until then Enjoy!.

Early Summer Table & Mantle

Hello from the sunshine, I mean rainy state ! We have had SOOOOOOO much rain , it's been flooding. It's been crazy! Putting a damper on my plans, that's for sure. Anyway, I thought I would share my early summer tablescape and mantle decor with you, before it's changed  to Father's Day! ( weather permitting that is!)
The mantle is a  park theme. A small iron bench with grass underneath it as a base. Then a tree, a two tiered planter , a white picked fence, and  my cute little rainbow owl. Then some flowers that have caught the wind and blew up across the fence.  My little french doll " Pierre" is sitting on the bench , while he sucks his thimb, and enjoys his afternoon in the park.

The table for two is set with a white tablecloth, yellow glittered chargers that sit on an orange round platemats, some pretty flowered plates, and matching bowls. The napkins are green & white, layered together and held by a band of silver. The flatware is green and sits on a leaf plate, the glasses are orange. The flowers arrangements is done in yellow, orange, green and a touch of red to match the plates. The polka dotted bow sits in the side of a green vase for a light summer touch.
