Colonial Style 4th of July Mantle & Entry

I don't know if I ever mentioned that last Thanksgiving, Hubbs & I went to Washington,DC. No? Well we did and had a blast! While there I toured Mount Vernon,(George Washington home)and noticed the colonial theme of that era and in the decor. Well inspiration hit and thats the theme for my fourth of July mantle, entry way and formal dinning table. I also played on the 1776 theme because my house numbers are that! Cute ?? Like heck yeah!!!
So I started with two prints that I think simulate that era. One big star as a focal point, two jars filled with blue shredded paper and glitter stars. Two smaller prints that have sayings, two sugared stars, and red beaded candles. 2 decorative balls, one with stars and one with stripes. In the center I added a Uncle Sam lantern and a handmade garland made from chipboard and ribbons.

I want to take the time to thank all my followers for the great comments, they are very appreicated . I also was feature on a blog!!! More on that later! Will post more pictures tomorrow! Enjoy! I am linking up to :

  1. The mantle string is wonderful. I need one by the day after tomorrow and will never be able to complete it. You should make them and sell them. I'd buy it!
