Musings Of Fall

Autumn Greetings Y'all!

Every year I try to come up with fall ideas to decorate the front door porch. Seems like every city I have lived in is a challenge to do so. In Florida, typical fall weather isn't cool or fallish at all. I mean surrounded by water and palm trees means no falling leaves, no crisp nip in the air, no beautiful warn colors to see..so that means I have to make my porch one of welcoming color.
I wanted you to feel "FALL" when stepping up on my porch. I started with my door, two different kinds of  grapevine garlands twine around as the first layer. Autumn leaves with a bit of glitter  and twinkle mesh are added.  A jute open weave ribbon peeks out through the door garland. The door centerpiece is done with mesh, three kinds of feathers in natural, lime and orange stripe feathers, flowers and leaves,   tri colored eucalyptus and a burlap bow. I wanted something other than a round wreath so I decided on this design.

 The door swag:

The top of door you can see the grapevine:

I have weird angles to my porch, so the wall and corner get in on the decor too. On the wall I took vinyl ( thanks Pepper) and mounted them there. Underneath are bales of hay, baskets , assorted pumpkins, a potted mum, leaves and flowers popping out a basket.

In the corner I put a wrougt iron piece behind crates, hay with more mums . The pots are covered with mesh and a burlap ribbon to sass them up a bit . Added more pumpkins and another wrought iron peice to complete the look.

WHOOO Is Ready for Fall ??

Hello Y'all !

It's fall in Florida, or at least it is in my mind (  delusional it may be )  it is. But fall is my one of my favorite times of year, cooler weather at some point anyway. I love the warm colors,  carmel apples , the smell of pumpkin spice and cinnamon. This year I went a little more traditional than last year with my colors.
The table scape started out by finding this gorgeous white owl vase, and using traditional colors I opted for a plaid ( unusual for me) tablecloth. Muted gold chargers sit under green dinner plates , a cute little leaf dish in burnt orange graces the top. Green stemware, my favorite gold flatware tucked inside a tan napkin complete the look. A single tri colored candle in fall colors for a soft glow when Hubbs & I eat dinner. Two  leaf salt and pepper shakers, sits by a basket that serves as the pedestal for Mr. Whoo aka the centerpiece filled with fall colored flowers, leafs, cat tails and a fall  ribbon.. I just love his face!  So now on to the pictures:

The second table scape was on my formal dinning table , the one we use for when it's not just Hubbs and I.  Planned it simple, I used a orange table runner , leopard tray to hold two pumpkins. A fall garland draped across the table, threw the pumpkins, along with gold candle holders complete this easy look.

I am linking up to the Autumn Link Parties, 1st up is Kevin & Layla @ The Lettered Cottage..
